Single parents have a fast growing trend in society. It was found that single parents have negative mental, emotional and psychological impact on the child. Although it is quite possible for children from single parents homes growing well suited successful adults, statistics show that children whose parents get divorced are at higher risk for the development of behavioral and social problems.
The direct effect of being raised by a single parent is especially able to be seen in the child’s thinking and mental attitude. Children can also susceptible to the effects of single parenting, such as stress on financial difficulties and feelings of isolation and without emotional support.
Although single parent with one child only needs to be praised, should he or she will not be held liable for mental or psychological consequence of the situation for the child. There are very obvious reasons for the child is not normal, different and not accepted. The traditional families have two parents educate, mother and father together, the children with the help and advice from each other. While single parents, only a person decides what is best for the child.
Children raised in a household of one parent can develop stronger bonds with their parents than children raised by both parents. Another positive effect is that children raised in single parent homes take more responsibility for the welfare of the family
